In the past there have been horror stories of wedding planners being not quiet what they have put on their websites.

There are a few things all couples should make sure of when they are looking at having a Destination Wedding….

• Is the wedding planner based in the country that you want to be married in.  (Yes there are wedding planners that are based overseas that coordinate weddings for couples all around the world, but they do not know the country as well as the locals, they rely on others to be on hand for your day)
• Is all legal paperwork included… make sure that you have the marriage licence as well as your marriage certificate and the stamp that is required in most countries around the world to prove that your wedding was legal and has meet the requirements needed to register in your own country.
• To be honest you need your wedding planner with you from being to end.  Planners get to know their couples. You are paying for your planner so you should have her/him there on the day to make sure personally that your wedding is going to plan.
• Is you planner available to you via phone?  You definitely want to be able to speak with your planner should you need some answers personally.  Emails are good, but what if you just want that personal reassurance.
• Refunds… you need to have it clearly written about refunds. For example if you have a flight to a glacier and the weather is just not cooperating on the day , you need to know that you will get the refund and how.
• Contracts… your contract should be clear, stating what is included in your services, refund information for flights etc, payment dates, in fact it should have everything covered.
